Teams, roles and invites
Start a team, bring people in by email, company domain or the team link, and see who's on it
A team is a shared workspace. Everyone on it sees the team's prototypes, walkthroughs and comments. Your personal workspace stays private.
You manage your team in the web app: go to /app and choose Team in the sidebar (in your personal workspace it says Start a team). Switch workspaces from the menu at the top of the sidebar.
Everyone on a team runs it. Anyone on it can invite people, share or reset the team link, rename the team and remove people. Nobody has to ask to join, so there's nothing to approve.
Start a team
- Choose Start a team in the sidebar of your personal workspace, or in a team's Team go to Start or join another team
- Enter a team name and choose Start a team
Bring people in
There are three ways onto a team, and each puts the person on it straight away:
- Invite by email. In Team, enter their email and choose Invite. They're on the team as soon as they sign in with that email. Invites last 14 days, and show in the list until they're taken up. Choose the cross beside one to cancel it.
- Their company email. When someone signs in with a work email at the same domain as people already on your team, Glitterball offers them your team and Join puts them on it. Gmail, Outlook and other webmail addresses never match.
- The team link. Team link in Team has a link and a code (it looks like
ABCD-EFGH-JKMN). Anyone who opens the link, or enters the code under Start or join a team, joins. Choose Reset link to make a new one; links and codes shared before stop working.
Know who's on the team
People in Team lists everyone, with their email, when they joined and how. When someone joins, everyone already on the team gets an email, the team's Slack channel gets a line if one is connected, and Team in the sidebar shows a count until you look. People who joined since you last looked are marked New.
Plans
Teams are free and have no seats: bring in as many people as you like. Everyone works on their own plan, Free or Maker, which goes with them into every team they're on. Personal workspaces are just for you and can't invite.
Leave or remove
- To leave a team, choose the cross beside your own name and confirm.
- To remove someone, choose the cross beside their name. Anyone on the team can remove anyone.
Leaving or being removed takes away access to the team's workspace. Your personal workspace is unaffected. A team always has someone in charge of its settings: if its last owner leaves, whoever has been on it longest takes over.
