Ask questions in a walkthrough
Pin questions to moments in your walkthrough so everyone following it stops there and answers on the spot
You can pin a question to a moment in your walkthrough, such as "What do you make of the filters?" at 0:42. Everyone following the walkthrough stops at that moment, with the cursor on what you were pointing at, and answers right there on the prototype.
Add a question
Questions come with Maker. You add them before you share, on the screen that opens when you stop recording.
- Drag along the timeline to the moment you want
- Choose Add a question at 0:42, which shows the time you picked
- Type your question (up to 200 characters) and pick how people answer: words, yes or no, choices, a slider, an emoji or marker pens
- Choose Share
A walkthrough can have up to 12 questions.
To take a question down, play to it and choose Remove. You'll see how many answers each question has when you reach it.
What viewers see
When playback reaches a question, it pauses and shows your name, the question, and where it falls ("2 of 3"). The cursor shows Question here.
- Answer opens a comment box at that spot. Viewers can type an answer, record a short video, or both, then choose Send answer. Answering needs a name or a Glitterball sign-in.
- Skip carries on without answering
Each question stops a viewer once. The walkthrough's listing on the prototype shows how many questions it has.
Where answers go
Answers are comments, pinned where you were pointing and linked to your question. They're on the same version of the prototype as the walkthrough. See Comments.
