Share links and private links
The links Glitterball makes for a walkthrough, who can open them, and how to look at a version without sharing it
The walkthrough link
When you stop recording, Glitterball makes a share link and copies it. Anyone with the link can open it; they don't need a Glitterball account to watch.
What the link opens depends on the prototype:
- Tagged or hosted prototypes: the link is the prototype's own address with the walkthrough ready to play on top. See Follow a walkthrough.
- Other prototypes: the link opens the walkthrough's share page on Glitterball, where the recording replays in a frame with a timeline, the Summary and the Narration
To make a prototype tagged, see Connect a prototype.
Copy the link again
- In the web app, open the walkthrough from your list and choose Copy video link (the video on Glitterball) or Copy prototype link (the live prototype with the walkthrough ready to play). Copying from a walkthrough that isn't shared yet shares it.
- On the prototype, open the walkthrough list from the Glitterball bar, open the walkthrough's menu (More) and choose Copy link. It opens the prototype with that walkthrough ready to play.
From that menu you can also choose Watch as a video to open it in a corner card instead.
Private links
A walkthrough that hasn't been shared still plays on its page in the web app, through a private link. Nothing is shared, and the link stops working after 12 hours.
A private link is still a link. Anyone you give it to can open the page until it expires.
What a share link shows
A walkthrough's share page shows the replay, the narration, the summary and comments. It leaves out the prototype's address and anything else about your workspace.
Stop a link working
Deleting the walkthrough stops its links playing. See Delete a walkthrough.
