glitterball

Client demos your customer can click through

Walk your client through this week's build on the real prototype, and get their answers on the screens that matter

How forward-deployed teams use it

  1. Record what changed

Open the build your client already has the link to and press Record on the Glitterball bar. Talk and click through what changed this week. Each screen becomes a chapter, so nobody sits through the parts they have seen.

  2. Ask at the moments that matter

Before you share, pick a moment and choose Add a question, such as Would a claims handler trust this score?. Playback stops there for everyone, and they answer in text or a short video, pinned to the screen.

  3. Send one link

The link is the prototype's own address. Your client and their team follow your cursor through the real build, take over to click around, and answer with just their name.

  4. Hand the answers to your agent

Connect your coding agent to Glitterball and ask it to Pull the Glitterball feedback on this prototype and fix it. It reads every answer by screen, changes the code and marks each one resolved.

Instead of the demo call

Your client sees the build when it suits them, and their answers land on the screen they are about

  • The weekly screenshare

Half the room watches and nobody can click

  • A screen recording in Slack

The answers come back as a thread, far from the screen

  • Pins on a staging site

Forty pins and no story, because nobody said where to look

Questions

What is Glitterball?
Glitterball allows you to overlay interactive video walkthroughs over your real prototype and allows you to request feedback from your team.
Does my client need an account?
No. Anyone with the link can watch, click around, comment and answer. They add their name or sign in.
How do I add Glitterball to the build?
Run npx glitterball init in the prototype's folder, or ask your coding agent to. It works with any framework on any host, so the preview link you already send your client works as it is.
Can my client click around on their own?
Yes. The walkthrough plays over the live build, so links and forms work. Click anywhere to take over, and press Play to hand it back.
What happens when I ship a new version?
Each walkthrough adds a version of the prototype. One recorded on an older version still plays as it was recorded, with a note saying which version it was made on.
Will I know when my client answers?
Yes, with the Glitterball app in Slack. A channel you pick hears when someone comments, answers one of your questions or watches to the end.
How is it different from BugHerd or Markup.io?
They collect pins on a page. Glitterball walks your client through the build first, stops at the questions you chose and pins their answers to the screen, then hands them to your coding agent.
Which plan do I need?
Free covers 2 walkthroughs a week. Questions, video answers and unlimited walkthroughs come with Maker, $10 a month per person. Your client never pays.
