Add interactive video walkthroughs to your Figma Make prototypes

Paste one line into Figma Make, publish, and walk your team through the real app

How to add Glitterball to Figma Make

  1. Add Glitterball

Copy the prompt from Glitterball, Create walkthrough, Add a prototype, In an app builder, and paste it into Figma Make's chat. It carries the prototype's own token and adds Glitterball with a script tag. Or paste Add Glitterball to this prototype by following https://www.glitterball.dev/install.md.

  2. Record a walkthrough

Publish the app, then open its published or preview address in its own tab, not inside Figma Make's editor. Open the prototype and press Record on the Glitterball bar, then talk and click through it. The first time, that signs you in. Each screen becomes a chapter.

  3. Share the link

The link is the prototype's own address. Viewers follow your cursor through the real build, stop to click around and comment on the exact screen.

  4. Read the feedback

Every comment and answer is on the walkthrough in Glitterball, pinned to its screen. Paste what to change into Figma Make.

Questions

What is Glitterball?
Glitterball allows you to overlay interactive video walkthroughs over your real prototype and allows you to request feedback from your team.
How do I add Glitterball to a Figma Make app?
Copy the prompt from Create walkthrough, Add a prototype, In an app builder in Glitterball and paste it into Figma Make's chat. It carries the prototype's own token and uses a script tag, so it works where packages can't be added.
Can I record inside Figma Make's editor?
Record on the published or preview address in its own tab. The editor frames the app, which gets in the way of the camera and the clicks.
Does Glitterball need to reach the internet while Figma Make builds?
No. Figma Make builds in a sandbox that can't reach glitterball.dev, so the package needs no key at build time. The prototype gets its key the first time the published page opens in a browser.
Do viewers need an account?
No. Anyone with the link can watch, comment and answer. They add their name or sign in.
How is it different from a screen recording?
A screen recording is a flat video. Glitterball plays over the live build, so viewers can stop, click around themselves and comment on the exact screen.
